Blood Search Warrant Week |
|
Saturday, February 21, 2009 |
UPDATE: 02/27/2009
Peace Officers from across Bexar County are trained and ready for the D.A.'s Office to launch 24hrs of blood draws for those who refuse to provide officers with a breath sample.
If an impaired driver refuses to provide a breath sample to an officer, the officer might get a search warrant and have a nurse take a sample of blood from the drunk driver. If the impaired driver resists the officer or nurse he or she could be facing additional charges. If you're going to drink, designate a sober driver or take a cab.

"No Refusals Accepted" Initiative |
|
Thursday, May 22, 2008 |
|
Law enforcement officers across Bexar County will set out to keep your roadways safe during the holiday weekend. Beginning on Friday May 23, 2008 at 5:00pm officers from the Bexar County DWI Task Force agencies will take part in the Bexar County District Attorney’s Office “No Refusals Accepted for Memorial Weekend” initiative. The initiative allows police officers to obtain blood evidence by applying for a search warrant. Upon issuance of the warrant blood will be drawn from persons who have refused to provide a breath specimen after being stopped and probable cause exists for a DWI arrest.
